With the award-winning (CES, 2017) Connect Hub, IOTAS Cloud, other third party integrations, and a complete ecosystem with simple installation, IOTAS provides both the renter and property manager a safe and secure smart infrastructure. The resident experience is plug-and-play with the app that is floor plan specific to the user and smart devices are pre-installed and paired prior to move-in. Users can create Smart Stories which are personalized/customized automation based on behavior/communication between devices, messaging on notifications/home activity, invite guests, and track/view energy usage from their smartphones. The Property Dashboard is a building-wide management and control tool that manages residents, vacant units, building statistics and common area controls. This helps the property manager to ensure temperature and humidity are within a safe range and enables seamless move-in and move-out experiences. IOTAS provides building owners and managers energy savings, allows them the rent units more quickly, charge a premium for rent, provide lease retention, market differentiation, and increased property value.

IOTAS is currently installed in buildings across more than 30 major metropolitan cities. The company has raised $6.45 million to date from Intel Capital, Rogue Venture Partners, Creative Ventures, Oregon Venture Fund, and others. The company is rapidly scaling operations and revenue as it capitalizes on opportunities in this exciting growing market. Customers include JP Morgan, Prudential, Hunt Companies, and other major real estate conglomerates. The company will finish 2018 at ~$15M in revenue with increasing ARR due to the SaaS model conversion. IOTAS is headquartered in Portland, Oregon and is implementing the plan for rapid expansion and success.

Position: Chief Financial Officer

This CFO will partner with the CEO, Board and leadership team, driving the business and financial architecture and implementation to lead IOTAS from a SaaS-enabled hardware to a fully SaaS solution company. You will build the revenue model, providing the roadmap for massive scale as IOTAS continues to win large contracts with the leading national real estate asset managers. This CFO will provide the experience and insight to drive negotiations, financing alternatives, deal structure, and operations that drive company success. You will be forward thinking about strategy and operations and develop solutions that are ahead of the curve and maximize shareholder value.

The CFO will build an internal finance, accounting and operations machine that provides an appropriate level of processes and controls as IOTAS grows. You will lead, grow and fully develop a team across all financial operations, accounting, audit, tax, FP&A, supply chain, vendor management, logistics, project management, and customer care. This executive will build robust financial planning and budgeting processes and identify/implement key metrics of success by which to monitor the business. You will drive all business modeling, revenue and cash forecasting, planning and analysis, and communicate information and insights in a timely fashion to the Board, investors, leadership team, and employees. This CFO will be one of the public faces of the company, communicating what is required to grow the enterprise and create shareholder value.

The CFO will work with the accounting firm, drive all financial interactions with the Board and Audit Committee and handle tax planning and compliance. You will handle all reporting relationships, play a lead role in corporate governance and establish/maintain internal controls within the company.

This CFO will work with all executives and the entire IOTAS team to drive solutions that provide extraordinary value to the end consumer and real estate asset managers while building a successful business and financial model. You will not only be an executive officer of the company, but also help lead and guide IOTAS as it scales rapidly. You will work with the Board of Directors, advisors and partners on a full range of finance, technology, operations, licensing, and business issues and will coach and develop his/her team in helping them become the next generation of great finance and operating executives. This position reports to Sce Pike, President & CEO of IOTAS.

The qualified candidate will have the following:     

  • Success as a CFO (or #2 Finance executive) ideally in a SaaS or SaaS-enabled hardware company.

  • Proven partnership with the CEO in raising venture funding and other forms of growth capital.

  • Track record of innovation/”moving the needle” of business performance by implementing new business and revenue models.

  • Breadth of broad business experience and previous success in providing meaningful insight into the numbers.

  • Strong communication skills, fully capable of being a face and voice of IOTAS with investors, audit firm, strategic partners, customers, vendors, employees, etal.

  • Verifiable success as a business leader developing teams that are recognized as great business partners across all functions.

  • Experience with real estate asset managers and licensing agreements would be preferred.
