Lattice Semiconductor Corp.

Lattice Semiconductor Corp.
Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Lattice Semiconductor (NASDAQ:LSCC) is a leading supplier in the rapidly growing programmable logic market. Current revenue level is $58 million per quarter and the Company has grown revenue 7 out of the last 10 quarters. As innovative technology pioneer, the Company has historically focused on low-density programmable logic devices (PLDs) and over time has been successful in building the number two position (~33% market share) to Altera in the PLD segment. However, PLD products only make up about 20% of the overall programmable logic market. The majority of the market is made up of FPGA products - a segment that Lattice entered by acquisition in 2002. At present, FPGA products only account for about ¼ of Lattice's revenue. Recently, Lattice has aggressively invested in new FPGA products to increase its share of the FGPA market and is still in the early phases of the sales cycle of these products. Since 2005, the Company has brought 7 new FPGA families to the market and has been successful in winning thousands of new designs. New products currently make up 14% of Lattice's revenue and are on pace to double in revenue this year. Recent introduction of the competitive new 90 nanometer products and historic design momentum suggest that this new product revenue momentum will continue throughout 2008 and 2009. With these new products and a very strong balance sheet, Lattice is well positioned for profitable growth. In addition to its new FPGA products, Lattice provides the industry's broadest range of programmable logic devices including complex programmable logic devices (CPLDs), simple PLDs and unique programmable mixed signal products (Power Manager, ISP Clock™ and ISP PAC™) and related software development tools and intellectual property cores.

Lattice is focused on increasing market share (current FPGA share = 2%, #4 player) by rapidly introducing differentiated FPGA products targeting high growth segments within this attractive market. Recently, the company has introduced four new 90 nanometer product families with differentiated features that provide unique value to FPGA customers versus the large incumbent vendors (Xilinx and Altera). The Company currently offers the most advanced non-volatile (flash-based) FPGAs as well as the lowest cost SERDES products in the FPGA space. Lattice's future R&D efforts are focused on migrating these innovative families to more aggressive process technologies to both lower product cost and increase density and thereby expanding the beachhead the Company has established in the FPGA market. Some of the end market applications targeted by these new products applications include routers, switches, optical networks VOIP/PBX, IPTV, digital video cameras, plasma and LCD TVs, set top boxes, home audio/video, gaming, PDAs, 3G infrastructure, terrestrial and satellite broadcast, WIFI, WLAN, Wimax/Wibro, computer peripherals, storage and much more. Lattice has thousands of unique customers, with no one customer representing over 5% of revenue. Last year Asia (excluding Japan) represented 35% of revenue (on a consumption basis), the Americas (29%), Europe (24%), and Japan 12% of revenue. North America remains the largest market opportunity from a design standpoint.

Lattice has product development centers in Portland, Silicon Valley, Chicago, Bethlehem, PA and Shanghai, China and currently maintains 11 sales offices in North America, 8 in Asia and 8 in Europe/Middle East. These offices are staffed by field sales and application engineers who support end customers and manage indirect sales resources. Lattice sells directly to end customers through a network of 19 manufacturer representatives and 2 distributors (Arrow and Avnet) in North America. Lattice also has export sales channels in over 50 countries through a network of 28 distributors. Lattice is a fabless semiconductor company with a majority of wafer fabrication, assembly, packaging and testing conducted by a variety of business partners throughout Asia. Headquartered in Hillsboro, OR (a western suburb of Portland) Lattice has 875 employees.
