The Optical Communications segment, which represented 37% of revenue, consists of:
- Optical components and modules sold to OEM suppliers of enterprise and storage solutions, such as Cisco, EMC, Emulex, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Brocade, QLogic and Sun Microsystems.
- Optical components, modules and sub-systems sold to OEM providers to communications network carriers such as Alcatel-Lucent, Ciena, Cisco, Ericsson, Fujitsu, Huawei, Nortel and Nokia Siemens Networks.
The Communications Test and Measurement segment, which represented 44% of revenue, consists of:
- Lab and production test platforms used in the design, performance and interoperability testing of network equipment for all major and emerging core, metro, cable and access network technologies for customers such as Alcatel-Lucent, Ciena, Cisco, Huawei, Fujitsu, Nortel, Motorola and Nokia Siemens Networks.
- Field test instrumentation and software used in the installation, provisioning and maintenance of broadband voice, video and date communication services for customers such as AT&T, China Telecom, Comcast, Deutsche Telecom, Telefonica, Telmex and Verizon.
- Network and service assurance systems used to monitor and troubleshoot network performance and to optimize quality of service for customers such as Bell Canada, British Telecom and TimeWarner.
The Advanced Optical Technologies segment, which represented 12% of revenue, consists of:
- Precise, high performance optical thin-film coatings used in medical/environmental instrumentation and optical sensors for aerospace and defense applications.
- Optically-based color-shifting solutions utilized for security purposes in currencies and other documents, anti-counterfeiting devices and decorative surface treatments.
The Commercial Lasers segment, which represented 7% of revenue, consists of:
- Laser subsystems used in biotech instrumentation, semiconductor inspection, electronic material processing and precision machining.
- An innovative Photonic Power delivery system used to drive sensors, gauges, actuators, low power communications devices and nanotechnology.
JDSU has about 6500 employees and has 80 Sales and R&D sites globally, selling in over 164 countries with FAB operations/major facilities in Shenzhen, China; San Jose, CA; Germantown, MD and Lakewood, CO. JDSU is headquartered in Milpitas, CA.
The qualified candidate will have the following:
- Track record of success and operational metric improvement as the CFO of a $250 - $750 Million company or the SVP/Controller/CAO of a $750 Million - Multibillion technology company.
- Knows how factory should work evidenced by working as a financial executive in a globally complex multi-shore product company.
- Success as a change agent evidenced by embracing significant growth/decline and creating a new operational model that benchmarked well versus competitors.
- Leadership style that has proven the ability to hire a world class team, holding people accountable and involving the entire enterprise in business success.
- Record of driving and achieving bold goals and establishing and executing to best-in-class metrics.
- BS in Accounting/Finance required, CPA/MBA preferred.
