FLIR's Government Systems business is focused primarily on markets where very high performance is required. The primary market for these products is government customers, who use our hand-held and fixed mounted products for such applications as force protection, counter terrorism, search and rescue, perimeter security, navigation safety, law enforcement, narcotics detection, maritime and border patrol, and anti-piracy. A substantial portion of the revenue in the Government Systems business is derived from sales to government agencies and FLIR is continuing to expand the military program business, both in the United States and internationally.

FLIR's revenue grew from $575M in 2006 to an expected $1.1B in revenue in 2009. Net income grew from $100.8M in 2006 to $136.7M, 203.7M in 2008 with 2009 poised to be another record year for both revenue and earnings. FLIR is well positioned with a strong balance sheet include $346M in cash. The Government Systems Division accounts for approximately $569M in revenue for the company, with approximately 75% of the revenue from North America, 25% international and a three year annual revenue growth average of 33%. This combination of excellent operational performance, a strong balance sheet, dominant market share, and a five year EPS growth rate of 35% has landed FLIR on many lists as one of the best performing companies in the country. FLIR is headquartered in Portland, Oregon and has more than one thousand employees.

The qualified candidate will have the following:

• Previous success as a VP/Director/Manager of Sales Operations; preferably in a high technology complex hardware/systems company.
• Success in a sales capacity to large accounts, dealing with product complexity, large orders and multiple products/configurations.
• Experience with DOD Customers or /Government agency customers highly desirable
• Experience in using CRM tools across large cross-functional originations, implementation of CRM tools preferred.
• Proven leadership evidence by developing sales operations organizations viewed as business partners across the enterprise.
• A track record of working with multi disciplinary teams to build or reengineer sales operations process & procedures and then train and institutionalize new process across a complex organization.
