

Social Venture Partners:
Social Venture Partners seeks to develop philanthropy and volunteerism to achieve positive social change in the
community. Using the venture capital approach as a model, SVP is committed to giving time, money and expertise
to create partnerships with not-for-profit organizations. SVP Portland is a dual mission organization.
They seek to be both an "engaged grant maker" as well as a catalyst for giving in the four county area surrounding
Portland, Oregon. SVP Portland incorporated in December, 2000. They are 100% member funded and governed (currently
30+ Partnerships, 60+ individuals). Partners come from diverse backgrounds within the Portland business and
professional community.
Saturday Academy:
Saturday Academy engages motivated young people in hands-on, in-depth learning and problem solving by connecting them with community
experts as instructors and mentors. Their vision is that all interested, pre-college students in our region will have the opportunity
to interact with community experts and experience professional environments in ways that assist them in developing intellectually and
preparing for rewarding careers. Saturday Academy's innovative programs are open to all students in grades 2 through 12. They emphasize
math, science, engineering, technology, and healthcare because these disciplines are integral to the future our children will live and
work in. Since 1983, Saturday Academy has provided instruction to more than 100,000 students throughout Oregon and SW Washington.
Junior Achievement of the Columbia Empire:
Junior Achievement is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to educate and inspire young people to value
free enterprise, business, and economics to improve the quality of their lives. Junior Achievement of the Columbia Empire
began in September of 1950. Since then, it has branched out offering programs kindergarten through twelfth grade in 36
counties throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. Junior Achievement of the Columbia Empire reaches 32,200 students in
1302 classrooms in 200 schools in 44 districts throughout Oregon and SW Washington. Junior Achievement secures funding and
recruits volunteers from diverse backgrounds to provide programs for elementary, middle, and high schools through the
region. Corporations, industry, small business, foundations, individuals, and others contribute financial and volunteer
resources, as do various organizations that also want to invest in the quality of local education.
Portland Center Stage:
Established over fifteen years ago, Portland Center Stage is the largest repertory theater company in Portland.
PCS puts on a combination of five classic and contemporary plays each season.
